What else can I say?

To watch a slow moving coup,
so slow that people don’t notice it.

It creeps behind perceptions,
behind Confederate flags,
while people of color
are killed while:
buying a pack of cigarettes,
or being gay,
and not even accountants
eating ice cream are safe.

I’ve cried in rage
when George Floyd died,
and remained silent,
peacefully workin’
for the minimum wage,

With no freedom or means
to shelter from Covid.

Twenty-five states
restrict BLM protest,
while white people sack
Congress

Makin’ me ask,
Is humanity truly so worthless?

The answer keeps sayin’ ‘yes’,
and so I’ve
“shut the fuck up”,

no one is listening….

Learning how to be a better human being through poetry, prose and my journal. Still working on a better life in San Diego, CA..... Truth is, I am just another human among eight billion other folks on planet Earth. I've been told that my poetry is dark. I practice poetry.
