I love science fiction, and will likely die loving science fiction. But the thing about science fiction is that it intends to be a crystal ball of the future.

And of late, that crystal ball isn’t showing a good picture.

The thought of there still being a gulf of income inequality and poverty disturbs me, that people should live and die this way, regardless of color or religion.

And yeah, that politics and wealth will ensure that those very same people’s deaths occurs.

Worse of all, you can turn people into sheep and lemmings, but that you can not keep people that way.

People eventually remember that they are people, and begin to think for themselves.

History has shown that when people wake up there is a revolution of some kind.

But what if tbat wake up call never comes, and that poverty and inequality grows?

Then I would hope that humanity ceases to exist soon, so that this no longer continues.

I would rather starve to death in my poverty and inequality.
